For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285
Imaculate Conception offers Confirmation classes each year for Catholic adults who would like to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. To enroll in the class, one must be at least:
· Age 18
· Baptized in the Catholic Church and have received First Holy Communion
· If married, must be married within the Catholic Church. If civilly married, couple must receive the sacrament of marriage before receiving Confirmation.
Adults who are seeking all three sacraments of initiation (baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) or baptized adults who are seeking Eucharist and Confirmation must go through a process of conversion, RCIA.
Classes meet January through May in the Faith Formation Center. Call Terri Badeaux at 933-4925 for further information. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated annually on the Feast of Pentecost.
